Prof. Ronen Verker
Ronen is a senior materials scientist at the Space Environment Department of the Soreq Nuclear Research Center and an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Tel Aviv University.
His research includes space-environment simulation, smart materials, shape-memory polymers, and space-durable nanocomposites, with an emphasis on actuators and systems for space and soft-robotics applications. Professor Verker teaches the graduate-level course Introduction to Materials in the Space Environment.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and holds several patents. His work bridges fundamental research and applied innovation through collaboration with academic partners, focusing on high-performance material technologies, material degradation detectors, and the development of nanosatellite payloads for space applications.
