TAUSAT-1
TAU's first satellite in space was a 3U CubeSat, which was deployed from the International Space Station (ISS) on March 14th, 2021. It was equipped with a scientific payload that contained six experiments and was developed, manufactured, and tested at the Space Environment Department, Soreq Nuclear Research Center (NRC). The purpose of these experiments was to study the space environment in very low Earth orbit (VLEO) orbit and to validate the current models used for simulation and prediction of Total Ionizing Dose (TID), energetic particle fluxes, and atomic oxygen flux in VLEO orbits.
