Orly Blumberg

Orly is the Project Manager at the TAU Space Engineering Center. She leads and coordinates a wide range of activities critical to the successful execution of nano-satellite missions and the advancement of space infrastructure and research at Tel Aviv University.

Her responsibilities include:

• Defense Export Control: Initiated and implemented the process of obtaining “Certified Defense Exporter” status for the university; responsible for ongoing compliance and communication with Israel’s Ministry of Defense regarding defense export regulations.
• Procurement & Contracts: Manages complex procurement processes, including international purchasing of scientific equipment, contract negotiations, and coordination with suppliers and vendors.
• Project Coordination: Oversees the full lifecycle of space-related projects, including budgeting, timelines, and stakeholder engagement with both academic and industrial partners.
• Marketing & External Relations: Leads marketing efforts in the field of space, manages public relations, and cultivates collaborations with other universities, government agencies, and industry leaders to enhance the center’s visibility and impact.
• Event Organization: Plans and executes high-profile conferences and scientific events, hosting hundreds of participants from academia, industry, and government.
• Satellite Launch Support: Provides active support and coordination for logistics and regulatory processes related to satellite launches, both in Israel and internationally.
   

Through these responsibilities, Orly contributes to positioning Tel Aviv University as a leading institution in space research, nano-satellite development, and innovation.
